 Flu Precautions:

  • Respiratory etiquette - cough into elbow; sneeze into tissue; wash hands
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth to prevent the spread of germs
  • May return to school after fever free x 24 hours
  • Do not share food /drink
  • Practice healthy habits

The focus of student health services is to promote student wellness in an effort  to maximize  their educational experience.

   

Vaccination & Immunization Information
Minimize

Children entering school (at K or Grade 1) need the following vaccines:

4 doses of tetanus (one dose on or after 1st birthday)

4 doses of diphtheria (one dose or or after 1st birthday)

3 doses of polio

2 doses of measles*

2 doses of mumps*

2 doses of rubella (German measles)*

3 doses of hepatitis B

2 doses of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine or history of disease

* usually given as MMR

 

Children entering 7th grade need the following vaccies:

3 doses of tetanus

3 doses of diphtheria

3 doses of polio

2 doses of measles*

1 dose of mumps*

1 dose of rubella (German measles)*

3 doses of hepatitis B

Age appropriate dose(s) of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine or history of disease

*usually given as MMR

The only exceptions to the school law for immunization are medical reasons and religious beliefs. If your child is exempt from immunizations, your child may be removed from school during a disease outbreak.
