 School Wide Effective Behavior Support

SWEBS is a process for creating safe and effective learning environments.  SWEBS is a proactive approach to teach, monitor, and support appropriate school behavior for ALL students.  SWEBS is not new; it is the integration of four elements:

  • Operationally defined and valued outcomes,

  • Behavioral science

  • Research-validated practices, and

  • Systems change to both enhance the broad quality with which all students are learning and reduce problem behaviors.

Valley View at Yorkshire, East York, and Indian Rock proudly employ SWEBS Programs tailored to meet the needs of their students and staff.  Please support your child's behavioral success by learning about his or her program and reinforcing desired behaviors at home!

For every year that a behavior has been in place it takes one month of consistent intervention to see a major decrease in the behaviors.

Catching children being good improves behavior by 80%.

The quickest way to change behavior in anyone is to point out what he/she is doing right!
