GREETINGS YORKSHIRE ELEMENTARY !
It is an honor to be serving as the Principal of Yorkshire Elementary. I have held many positions in education over the years since my graduation from Penn State University in 1983. I will bring my experiences as a teacher (learning support, elementary and secondary levels) as well as my administrative experience as the Language Arts Coordinator of York Suburban to the students, staff, and parents at Yorkshire Elementary.
Yorkshire Elementary is one of two primary buildings within the York Suburban School District. Yorkshire houses students from Kindergarten through Second Grade. We welcome new students and new staff members to the Yorkshire family.
At Yorkshire, we work to provide the best education possible for each and every student. Moreover, we seek to accomplish this goal in a child-centered environment that seeks to develop the whole child while fostering a love of learning and a sense of responsibility. Our mascot, Yorkie Bear, along with the Queen Bee, help students learn and apply the Four Bee Rules:
- Be a Friend
- Be Responsible
- Be Respectful
- Be a Worker
Our classrooms are staffed by dedicated individuals who create respectful environments where hands-on, individualized, relevant instruction creates a climate where learning is enjoyable and adaptive to the students' educational and social needs. The Yorkshire Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) helps enrich our students through organizing assemblies, special events, and field trips.
All of these aspects combine to create the "Yorkshire Family." Together we are a community of learners that includes staff, students, parents, and community. This is a great place for kids!
